2024 Honzan and Sakura Tour

In spring 2024, Rev. Yanagihara led members on a memorable pilgrimage to some of Shingon Buddhism’s most revered Head Temples (Honzan) and cultural landmarks.
The tour included:
  • A visit to Koyasan, the spiritual heart of Shingon Buddhism, and a stay at Sanboin Temple.
  • Stops at iconic temples such as Byodo-in, Daigoji, Toji, and Ninnaji during Kyoto’s cherry blossom season.
  • A journey to Zentsuji, the birthplace of Kobo Daishi, paired with a relaxing onsen experience.
  • Shopping and cultural activities in Kyoto, Osaka, and Naruto, including a visit to the Awaji Ningyo Theater.
Participants enjoyed thoughtfully planned accommodations, traditional meals, and plenty of opportunities to explore local culture and history.
