Jizō Bosatsu
Jizō Bosatsu (Jp. 地蔵菩薩; Sk. Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva) is the patron of children, mothers, travelers, and all those who are vulnerable. Affectionately known as O-Jizō-Sama, Jizō Bosatsu was also enshrined by first-generation Japanese fishermen of Hawaii for protection on the ocean. It is common to thank O-Jizō-Sama for bringing us safely to the temple.

Gorinto
The gorinto is a five-level pagoda that was adpoted by Shingon believers in the Heian period of Japan. Each level of the pagoda represents a one part of the Five Elements: earth, water, fire, air, and energy. Full of symbolism, the gorinto is found throughout Shingon temples. Perhaps the most famous gorintos can be found at Okunoin on Mt. Koya.
