Koboji Shingon Mission is an active urban temple on the island of O’ahu. We follow the Koyasan Shingon-shu tradition of esoteric Buddhism as compiled by Kobo Daishi (Kukai). ​We invite you to experience the warmth and consideration of Kobo Daishi with our members and friends. ​

Who We Are

Since our founding in 1947, Koboji has supported thousands of families from around the world. Koboji is a socially conscious multigenerational temple with proud roots in working class Kalihi. We follow the traditional prayers and rituals of Koyasan Shingon-shu under the leadership of our two Hawaii-born priests.
