Omamori Information
Omamori
Omamori are Buddhist amulets received with prayers for protection and well-being. Koboji offers different types of omamori for individuals and families.
Selection varies throughout the year. If receiving a particular omamori is the main reason for your visit, please contact us before coming so we can confirm that it is available and that someone will be here to assist you.
Hoshi Omamori (Star Amulet)
Hoshi Omamori are personalized omamori prepared through Koboji’s Hoshi Matsuri Service held each February.
Each Hoshi Omamori is prepared for a specific person and includes information according to the birth year, astrological sign, and star. Hoshi Omamori can only be prepared through the Hoshi Service. They are not available on demand throughout the year.
Application information and deadlines are announced before each Hoshi Service.
House Omamori and Ofuda
Koboji offers a religious item for prayers for the home. While they are typically received at New Year's, house omamori is available year-round. Please contact the office to receive these omamori or schedule a house or business blessing.
Goshuin
A goshuin is a temple seal and calligraphy received in a goshuin book as proof of a temple visit.
Goshuin may be available at Koboji. Because a minister or staff member may not always be available to prepare one, please contact us before coming if receiving a goshuin is the main reason for your visit.
