General blessings are normally offered on the 21st of each month during published blessing times. No appointment is required during designated Open Blessing hours. Because times can occasionally change around holidays and major temple events, please check the current calendar before coming.

Fudo-ko is our regular service honoring Fudo Myo-o, an important figure in Shingon Buddhism representing unwavering wisdom and compassion. The service includes chanting and prayer and may include goma, the Shingon fire ritual, on special occasions. Fudo-ko is normally held on the fourth Sunday of every month. Daishi-ko is our regular service offered in gratitude to Kobo Daishi, Kukai, to whom Koboji is dedicated. We gather before Odaishisama to chant, pray, express our gratitude, and reflect on his teachings and their meaning in our lives today. Daishi-ko is normally held on the second Sunday of every month. Prayer is at the heart of life at Koboji. Throughout the year, we gather for regular services dedicated to Kobo Daishi, Fudo Myo-o, and other observances in the Shingon tradition. We also offer private prayers and blessings for individuals and families. You do not need to be a member to ask for a prayer or blessing.

Private Blessings & Prayers
People come to Koboji with many different prayers. A private service may be appropriate for several personal concerns or life occasions. Some blessings take place at Koboji, while others may be performed at your home, business, or another location.
A private service may be appropriate for:
- health and recovery
- personal or family well-being
- safe travel
- a new vehicle
- a home or apartment
- a business
- land or construction
- pregnancy or children
- yakudoshi
- kanreki
- a new butsudan
- weddings and important life occasions
- other personal concerns or prayers
